About Chemical Peels
Using only the highest quality in chemical peel treatments, Saman ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery provides patients with different choices for a customized facial treatment with chemical solutions (such as salicylic, glycolic, trichloroacetic and lactic acids) that give you more radiant facial skin. In our Plano, TX office, board-certified otolaryngologist & head and neck surgeon Dr. Masoud Saman offers chemical peel treatments that resolve skin irregularities such as scars, wrinkles, fine lines, dry patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels work by removing damaged, dead skin cells with the application of a customized treatment on the skin that causes the top layer to slough off. When your skin recovers and starts to repair and rejuvenate itself, you will see a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel facial is a nonsurgical way to make your complexion luminous and is appropriate for the face and neck.

Variations of Chemical Peels
In our Plano, TX office, we offer chemical peels in different strengths (light, medium, and deep) to accommodate our patients' skin needs.
Light peels: You can receive a light peel on a lunch hour and go right back to your routine. This type of peel will remove the outer layer of your skin (the epidermis), giving your facial features a more radiant appearance and smoother texture. We usually recommend that you schedule a light peel at least once a month for the ideal glowing results.
Medium-depth peels: This type of peel goes further into the skin, and patients generally decide to have this type of facial treatment during an extended weekend. You may also want to ready yourself for increased discomfort during and about one hour following the treatment. Medium-depth peels are for patients who have deeper damage to their skin like deeper lines and darker pigmentation problems.
Deep peels: The strongest of the three levels of peels is the deep peel, and it does require the longest recovery time. This is an aggressive treatment that may leave your face swollen, itchy, and peeling for a few weeks. Patients who have a deep chemical peel usually have age or dark spots, sun damage, entrenched acne scars, and/or deep scars. Since this type of chemical peel is generally uncomfortable for patients, your aesthetician may provide you with anesthetic as a part of your treatment.
Seeking the advice of a skin specialist is the first part in the journey to smooth, healthy skin. A team member at Saman ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery will evaluate your skin during an examination in our Plano, TX office before selecting a chemical peel for optimal results. Chemical peel patients, both men and women, will have visible issues with their skin such as acne scars, rough patches, flaky skin, discoloration, sun spots, fine lines, and more. We can recommend different levels of peels to meet your needs.

"I came for a consult and was put on the schedule for surgery the same day (for roughly a month later). The girls in the office are fantastic and efficient and great with follow up calls and scheduling, etc. Dr. Kelling is lovely and we talked extensively about my history and concerns about my procedure (no fancy stuff, just airflow issues). As for my procedure (septoplasty and much needed turbinate reduction), I am overwhelmingly overjoyed at being able to breathe freely agai...n. I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and alert and I ask myself if I even need a cup of coffee. I’m no longer a slave to caffeine in the morning, I just drink it because I enjoy it. I can now smell colors! Ok, maybe not colors, but I am moved to tears at least once a day at all the things I can smell and taste again after nearly a decade of deficient airflow. My only regret is I did not find Dr. Saman sooner. Though I did not take advantage of his artistic talent in rhinoplasty (though I would have totally gone for it five years ago), I felt like it was best to overshoot rather than undershoot when it comes to a surgeon’s skill. He is very transparent about his procedures and techniques on social media, I found him on Snapchat and followed on Instragram as well and I have to say it didn’t take long for me to feel comfortable and confident he could help me. Thank you Dr. Saman! You have helped me heal in more ways than I can express."- J.A. / Facebook / Jul 10, 2018

"I am pleased with the care received from Dr Saman and his staff. I had a complicated case and which has required multiple surgeries, he explains procedures well and is great communicating with my family."- J.R. / Healthgrades / Apr 18, 2018
Plan Your Procedure
On the day of your appointment at Saman ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, we will have you lying in a comfortable position to administer your treatment. A team member will ensure the skin is cleaned prior to applying the personalized solution to the face and/or neck. We will brush the solution onto the skin and allow it to work for an appropriate length of time that will be determined in your chemical peel consultation. Then, we will clean the peel off your skin and put on a neutralizing agent. Patients may want to bring sunscreen and a hat to wear outside following the treatment to avoid sun exposure.
What to Expect
Based on the type of the chemical peel you have, you should expect your skin to peel and itch from several days to two or more weeks. Dr. Saman or a member of his team will explain how to treat your face during your appointment. Please remember that no matter how badly your skin itches throughout the healing process, it's not a good idea to pull the skin off. You may create scarring on your facial skin!
